A Visitor’s Guide to Worship at Bethel

We’re excited you’re thinking about joining us for worship!

Don’t let social distance keep you away from worship. We worship every Sunday at 9:50 am by Zoom. We email a current link weekly along with an outline of the worship service. We sing hymns muted while our pianist, Rachel Huang, plays from her home. We share litanies the same way. On the first Sunday of the month, we join in communion using whatever elements we each have at home. We are a safe space for all!

Children are a priority for you and for us. So each Sunday worship we offer a time of conversation with the pastor and a story. Resources are emailed weekly to families to use during the worship or at a time of their choosing. In addition to providing Christian education resources for use at home, Bethel UCC and Arlington COB has a teacher team that organizes Zoom gatherings of the children seasonally and often have in-person service projects which offer the children a way to serve while maintaining social distance and safety.

Youth and children love to share their news and respond to questions.

Thanks to Zoom meeting: We have fellowship Wednesday evenings and Sunday after worship.  Fall, Winter and Spring, the upcoming lectionary texts are discussed on Thursdays at noon either meeting in person in the library or by zoom, depending on the needs of the group. Links for these meetings are emailed weekly. Leave a message at our office with your email if you wish to join our email list. 703-825-5557. During Advent a devotional and guide are being used as the “Lectionary Group” resource.
