The Rev. Carolyn Richar – interim July 2021

Rev. Carolyn Richar, our Associate Pastor, has served Bethel UCC part-time since graduating from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, with a BSN in 1982 and Master of Divinity from Candler Theological Seminary in 1985.

Pastor Carolyn is serving as Bethel’s temporary interim for the month of July 2021 or until a interim is secured from the Potomac Association and Central Atlantic Conference. Carolyn’s full-time ministry is as General Manager for Capital Caring in Northern Virginia and is temporarily assigned as a chaplain at Fairfax INOVA hospital.

At Bethel, Rev. Richar is team leader of our connection with the local Salvadoran community and the Vision of God Clinic in San Luis Talpa, El Salvador.

In addition to her ministries at Bethel and Capital Caring, she is involved with Kiwanis through the Fairfax Club, is a member of Leadership Arlington Class of 2011 and bowls in a local league. Her hobbies include music, canoeing, biking, hiking, needlework, reading, and finding new ways to cook chocolate.
